Customer service training begins at SU - 7/16/2014 -

Southern University's Office of Human Resource recently kicked off a series of Customer Service training sessions on the Baton Rouge campus. The group sessions involve various campus staff and focuses on improving customer service.

The sessions are lead by Andrea Benjamin, SU System training and development director.

"We focused on certain areas as we prepared to get ready for the start of the fall semester," Benjamin said. "We have had customer service issues in the past and we are being proactive to do something to turn this around."

Benjamin said Human Resources will also have surveys to be completed by customers to various departments on campus. "We want to get their feedback on how we are doing," she said.

"Now will everything be perfect when we finish? It may not," she said. "But we are taking steps necessary to improve and excel in customer service."

Several representatives from the New Orleans campus also will be involved in training sessions here.
