SUNO signs MOU with Ghanian university - 2/5/2013 -

Southern University New Orleans, February 5, 2013, officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Central University College (CUC) of Ghana to engage in faculty and student exchanges as well as cooperative academic pursuits. 

Representing CUC were the university's president, professor Kwesi Yankah and professor F.K. Rodrigues. 

This partnership is the first of its kind for SUNO and is part of chancellor Victor Ukpolo's mission to expand SUNO's footprint internationally. Representatives met with the chancellor's executive cabinet as well as with students, the deans, as well as the faculty senate.
 
A number of elected officials were on hand for the signing including Ira Thomas, Orleans Parish School Board president; Leslie Ellison and Nolan Marshal, Orleans Parish School Board members; and state representatives Austin Badon Jr., Edwin Murray, and Jared Brossett.

Also, Congressman Cedric Richmond, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, and the New Orleans City Council sent proclamations in honor of the MOU signing.
