SU students win top prizes at research competition - 4/9/2013 -

Southern University Baton Rouge students took away top prizes at the 17th Biennial Symposium of the Association of 1890 Research Directors, Incorporated held April 7-10, 2013, in Jacksonville, Florida.

There were first-place winners in oral presentation: Christopher Chappell, doctoral student in urban forestry; Delane Ross, undergraduate senior, animal science; and lillian profit, undergraduate senior, animal science.

There was a third-place finisher in poster presentations, Michael Breithaupt, a doctoral student in Urban Forestry.

The symposium, entitled "Sowing Seeds of Change for the Global Community," brought together competition from over 400 students representing 18 universities who are part of the 1890 land grant college community.
