Honore Center students take part in historic ceremony - 2/28/2013 -

Students enrolled in the Honore' Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement (HCUSA) at Southern University New Orleans served as special ambassadors during the investiture ceremony, February 28, 2013, for the Louisiana Supreme Court's first African-American female chief justice, Bernette Joshua Johnson, on the steps of the Supreme Court Building in New Orleans. HCUSA is a pilot project of the SU System-led "Five-Fifths Agenda for America" a demonstration project with the goal of increasing the number of college degrees among black men. The Southern University Marching Band also performed during the installation ceremony.
