"Inside
the Southern University System" is a weekly radio show produced by Southern
University System and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Baton Rouge. Its purpose is to inform and
educate the community on Southern University System news and developments,
along with the five campuses located within the System (SUBR, SU Ag Center, SU
Law Center, SU New Orleans, SU Shreveport).
Its aim is to link
our students, alumni, and community to our university System by focusing on current
and upcoming events, milestones and achievements, and other topics of
interest. The show opens with the System Spotlight segment which
highlights System news and information. Other weekly features include the Newsmakers segment which profiles
notable faculty, staff, students, alumni and supporters, the Alumni feature
which features prominent alumni, along with events and activities, the Athletics
segment which showcases an array of sports on all campuses. "Inside the Southern University System" stands
as the official radio show of the Southern University System. Its goal is
to provide consistent information through live weekly broadcast, via airwaves
and the web, reaching a world audience with news and highlights to promote and
enhance the Southern University System. Hosted by Robyn Merrick,
Inside the Southern University System airs weekly each Sunday from 7 a.m.
until 8 a.m. on Downtown Radio 97.7 FM.
