Three SUNO freshmen, Veronica Azubuike, Wynieka Anderson, and Gabrielle Carter were named to the 2010 GCAC All-Conference Volleyball Team on November 18. Joe Leonard, USDA assistant secretary for civil rights is scheduled to speak at the Southern University's Global Food Security and Plant Biosecurity Symposium on November 9, 2010. Leonard will give remarks at 9:30 am at the Southern University Royal Cotillion Ballroom, Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union. Leonard will address symposium participants including students, guests, staff, administrators, community and faculty members.
Livestock harvesting and
marketing workshops will be held in north and south Louisiana for county
agents, agriculture professionals, and livestock producers across the state. These
are important topics to ensure compliance with regulations as more farmers
transition to home harvest, processing and marketing of meat from
their grass fed cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens.
