Helen Godfrey-Smith will serve as the keynote speaker. She is the president and chief executive officer of Shreveport Federal Credit Union where she has served since 1983. The financial institution has grown from less than $2 million in assets to approximately $80 million in assets today.

Godfrey-Smith grew up in Jefferson, Texas. She was educated in the public schools of Marion County and attended college at Houston Tillotson College in Austin, Texas, where she received her B.S. degree in science. She has since continued her education at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and LSU in Shreveport. She received the highest designation for a professional in her field – the certified credit union executive.
