State program helps students with tuition

Students like Sharetha Brown, a single-parent, enrolled in a graduate program at Southern University, Baton Rouge, are able to get tuition assistance through the state's Individual Development Account program which helps low-income residents with children become homeowners.
Southern began administering the Individual Development Account program in 2006.
