The Southern University System Accountability Report Cards
The Southern
University System Administration and its campuses are required to display
good stewardship and accountability in achieving the goals to which they
have committed in their strategic plans. As such, they are required to
complete and submit accountability reports to the System President and Board
of Supervisors. One of the most comprehensive and summary measures of
Accountability is the Accountability Report Card. The System Administration
and each campus are required to complete this card annually.
The
Accountability Report Card is a companion document to each institution’s
Strategic Plan. It focuses on how well the reporting institution has
attained specific performance indicators as they move steadily forward to
fulfill the eleven important goals of the strategic plan. In short, it is a
measurement and monitoring instrument that can help each institution to
chart its progress, reflect on its challenges and re-double its efforts
towards these key milestones of excellence. The Report Card encourages a
self-assessment for each performance indicator; using baseline data and
establishing benchmarks for continuous improvement and communication. It
provides reference points against which future performance can be measured
and reported.
This
instrument is intended to serve many purposes. It will provide a road map
for on-going internal improvement. In addition, it will help the System and
it’s campuses to demonstrate accountability by reporting on their
performance and achievements. Most importantly, it will inform our Board of
Supervisors and external audiences of the milestones and progress made by
the Office of the President and System’s campuses. By using the report card
as a vehicle for measuring our forward progress, we will continuously
sustain and enhance this great University System. You are invited to click
