The Center for Excellence
in Teaching and Learning

Vision

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is envisioned as an instructional facility where excellence in teaching and learning is highly valued. Within this context, the Center will provide opportunities for faculty to continuously broaden and share their experiences with colleagues.  CETL supports faculty who wish to refine traditional and sound emerging pedagogical styles and integrate advanced technology into pedagogical delivery.  It encourages teachers to motivate students from diverse backgrounds to attain the highest levels of intellectual and personal  development. It functions as a strategic resource center that champions, challenges and supports faculty to fulfill their professional dreams and aspirations through a broad variety of faculty development experiences and resources.

Mission

The primary mission of the CETL is to support and promote programs and efforts that enhance teaching and learning experiences and to facilitate the continued professional development of faculty in their roles as teachers, researchers, scholars and learners.  CETL  provides leadership in developing and advancing a broad range of services and programs, while providing resources and opportunities to assist faculty with their professional development as educators. It is committed to promoting institutional effectiveness through assessment and evaluation of pedagogical styles, instructional experiences, programs, and curricula.
