Southern program addresses local housing, economic issues

The Southern University Center for Social Research is touting a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-sponsored program that focuses on the housing and economic development of the Scotlandville area of north Baton Rouge.

The Center for Social Research has been working with three community-based nonprofits — the Urban Restoration Enhancement Corp., the Scotlandville Community Development Corp. and Community Against Drugs and Violence — in its Southern University Building Stronger Communities Program.
