SUSLA training program among funded projects
A Southern University Shreveport program received a needed boost from legislators approving appropriations for transportation, education and social projects.
Congressman Jim McCrery announced funding for Southern University at Shreveport's health-care training mission, which will get an infusion of $100,000 tucked into the House's Labor/Health and Human Services appropriations legislation.
SUSLA will use the money to help identify
qualified faculty members, purchase equipment and
enhance adult education. The project will concentrate
on high-growth occupations such as dental hygiene,
medical laboratory technician/phlebotomy, nursing,
radiological technology and respiratory therapy.
