Southern Law Center Chancellor Pitcher was honored by the NAACP at its 2007 Freedom Fund Banquet, Friday, August 24, at the Baton Rouge River Center.

Professor Gail Stephenson's paper entitled, "After Katrina: A Critical Look at FEMA's Failure to Provide Housing for Victims of Natural Disasters" was recently listed on the Social Sciences Research Network (SSRN)'s Top Ten download list for Housing & Community Development Law.

The Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce has hired Phillip Wallace, a Southern University political science major, to serve as assistant to the executive director.
