Southern, Minnesota nursing schools join

SU's nursing school is on opposite ends of the Mississippi river from the nursing program at the University of Minnesota, but the schools' deans have recently announced a unique collaboration of instruction and effort.

"We think the University of Minnesota School of Nursing brings some very valuable resources to the table," said Janet Rami, dean of the Southern University School of Nursing.

A conference room of Southern faculty, administrators, and students listened as Connie White Delaney, dean of Minnesota's School of Nursing, spoke about both schools embracing technology in nursing.

While details of the collaboration still need to be ironed out, Delaney said she was excited about working with Southern's student health and mobile clinics.
