SU softball slugger named SWAC co-player of week
Southern University's softball player Jasmone Williams was named co player the week in the Southwestern Athletic conference during the first week of April.
In three games versus Texas Southern University in early April, Williams went three for nine with three homeruns and five RBI's. She completed her best weekend of her career by finishing game one for three with one homerun and two RBI's. In game two, the Carthage, Texas, native hit two homeruns, her first multiple homerun college game. She ended the contest with three RBI's and two runs. Game three was not good for Williams after she suffered a hand injury in the first inning.
The second-year starter is currently hitting a team leading .344 with 31 hits, 21 runs, six doubles four triples, five homeruns and 25 RBI's.
