Jazz Brunch, Silent Auction held at Southern University
The Southern University Center for International Educational held its Fourth Annual Jazz Brunch and Silent Auction, Saturday March 29, in the Royal Cotillion Ballroom of the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union Building.
The brunch is held annually to raise money for scholarships to support students and faculty members as they participate in the Center's Study Abroad programs held in Mexico, Africa, China, Brazil, and Italy. The International Education program also helps faculty members complete projects other countries as well as those helping faculty visiting the United States.
Barbara W. Carpenter, dean of International Education, said the event allows students, faculty and area residents an opportunity to experience other cultures and fellowship while helping Southern students expand their education.
"This is one of the initiatives which will help students and faculty broaden their global experiences," Carpenter said.
