TI donations supports scholarships, college
A $100,000 donation from Texas
Instruments (TI) to the College of Engineering will
support scholarships and recruitment efforts for internship
opportunities. SU System President Ralph Slaughter
(standing, third from right) thanked the company for
the ongoing support of Southern University during
a reception in their honor, February 20 at University
Place.

said that the company is committed to the rewarding
partnership with Southern and is pleased to offer
support to help enhance classroom and practical learning
experiences.
Thomas and fellow SU alumnus Arthur
George, senior vice president, High Performance Analog
business unit, Texas Instruments, were instrumental
in bringing the award to Southern University. Also
on hand for the presentation were Habib Mohamadian
(second from right, standing), dean, College of Engineering;
Pradeep Bhattacharya (far left, standing), chair,
Department of Electrical Engineering; and Janifer
Peters (seated far right), assistant to dean, College
