Southern's youngest student featured in Ebony magazine

Polite Stewart Jr.

SU's Polite Stewart Jr. is featured in the September 2008 issue of Ebony magazine. Fourteen-year-old Stewart is the youngest student to enroll at Southern University, Baton Rouge. He started his studies at Southern this summer after completing home-school and making impressive scores on the ACT and SAT exams.

Stewart also is a product Southern's nationally honored Timbuktu Academy. The program offers rigorous academic mentoring for kindergarten through college undergraduates in physics, math and the sciences.
