SUSLA Surgical Technology Program noted for excellence

The Southern University, Shreveport Surgical Technology Program has received a certificate of achievement for the second consecutive year marking the program and its students' excellent performance on the Program Assessment Exam (PAE), a mandatory qualitative assessment tool, used for program accreditation.

The Southern University Surgical Technology Program has made the top 20 Elite Programs, who scored high on the PAE. "As we follow up students post graduation, we have been amazed at the accomplishments of our graduates, said Didaciane Keys, director of the Surgical Dialysis program. "So far, we have 100 percent employment, post-graduation."

Surgical Technology Program graduates work as scrub techs, work as personal assistants to surgeons, or continue their training to become the rare, but valued, operating room registered nurses.
