Online Paralegal Certificate Course offered

Southern University, Baton Rouge’s Division of Continuing Education will offer an online paralegal certificate course. The course will be held October 15- November 30.

The online paralegal certificate course, which can be completed in two seven-week sessions, consist of Paralegal I “Introduction to Paralegal Studies” and Paralegal II “Advanced Paralegal Concepts.”

The courses are designed for those who want to learn more about the American legal system, work in a law office as a paralegal, open a freelance paralegal business, litigate their own cases on a pro se basis, assist retained attorneys in litigating their own cases, or prepare themselves to excel during their first year of law school.

Upon completion of both Paralegal I & II, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from Southern University.

Tuition is $544.50 for Paralegal I and $544.50 for Paralegal II or $1,089 for both. Both courses must be completed to earn a Certificate of Completion. Online required textbooks cost approximately $290 and WESTLAW access is required for the second half of the online format at a cost $60.
