NBA great Bob Love kicks off SUNO Homecoming

Southern University, New Orleans' Homecoming 2007 continues through October 26 at the North Campus at 6801 Press Drive. The University welcomed alumni, media and the public to listen to ex-NBA star, speaker and author, Bob Love when he addressed the alumni convocation on Monday, October 22.

Love is known to NBA fans as a former star player with the Chicago Bulls. The native of Bastrop and graduate of Southern University and A&M College became more well-known to many others because of the challenges he faced after his successful basketball career. Love had a severe stuttering problem that hindered his post-NBA career opportunities.

Thanks to speech therapy and optimism his inspirational journey took him from working as a bus boy in restaurants to regaining prestige as a motivational speaker, author and the Bulls’ director of community affairs.
