SUSULA awards business opportunity grants to local businesses

Southern University, Shreveport through the Division of Community and Workforce Development awarded more than $13,000 in business opportunity grants to local business at a special awards luncheon held in August at Guillaumes’ Restaurant.

Businesses who received grants were ASAP Copy, JaLi'Ve Enterprises, Circle of Love, Ashanti's Hair Design, Cooper Height Grocery, and The Fade Factory.

The Business Opportunity Grant Program is intended to encourage business property owners/tenants to reinvest in and improve the appearance of their business and/or acquire new equipment in an effort to expand services and increase capacity. Additionally, it promotes the revitalization of active, ongoing businesses through the rehabilitation of exteriors and landscapes. The grants are provided through an initiative funded by the City of Shreveport and administered by Southern University Shreveport Division of Community and Workforce Development.
