Southern University System honors vice president for 50 years of service
Tolar White honored

The Southern University System honored long-time employee Tolor E. White, vice president for finance and business affairs and comptroller, during a 50th Anniversary program, “Celebration of Dedication, Faithfulness, and Hard Work,” Thursday, Octboer 18.

More than 200 guests including including Commissioner of Higher Education E. Joseph Savoie, SU System President Ralph Slaughter, SU Board of Superviosrs Chairman Johnny Anderson, SU Board Members Jesse Bilberry and Tony Clayton, campus chancellors, Mt. Zion Baptist Church pastor Rev. René Brown, SU Alumni Federation officers, his wife and members of his family, and other past and present coworkers and friends.

White began work at Southern University in 1957 and has held several academic and administrative positions in accounting and government financial Management. As a public administrator in higher education,White has extensive experience in managing the budgets and cash flow of the Southern University and A & M College System, and has from 1957 to present, worked with external agencies in the fiscal management of the University’s affairs.
