Director of Recruitment

Job Description: 

The Recruitment Director will assist the Dean to increase the number of students entering the STEM programs. The Director will institute targeting strategies designed to maximize recruitment of women and underrepresented minorities by organizing recruitment visits to local and regional high schools and local community colleges on 2+2 arrangements. The Director will also design and coordinate other recruitment activities, and assist the College with communication activities. The Director will create, package, monitor and distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; develops mentorship programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops strategies for program evaluation. The Director also serves as a point of contact for schools and special interest groups that want to schedule recruitment visits or campus tours. One of the most important responsibilities of college recruiter is giving public presentations to prospective students about the school they represent.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM Field or related fields.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understand the needs of diverse populations
    • Excellent time management, organizational skills and customer service skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong motivational and presentation skills
    • Experience in the interpretation of high school academic credentials
    • An understanding of recruitment, education systems, and the higher education application process
    • A strong understanding of the high school recruitment landscape, demographic trends, and pressing issues in the national and international admissions dialogue
