SUBR Director of eLearning
Position Overview:
The Director of eLearning is responsible for the leadership, development, and quality assurance of Southern University and A&M College online education programs. This role ensures online learning aligns with national best practices, institutional goals, and regulatory requirements, including standards set by Quality Matters, the Association for College and University Educators (ACUE), and Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) requirements from the U.S. Department of Education.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand and enhance online education programs.
- Ensure online programs meet accreditation standards and comply with federal RSI requirements.
- Promote best practices in online teaching and faculty development, aligning with ACUE teaching standards.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate instructional technology and innovative online pedagogy.
- Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of online courses and programs. Assess program effectiveness through data analysis and recommend improvements.
- Establish student support services tailored to online learners.
- Manage compliance with state authorization reciprocity agreements (SARA) and other regulatory policies.
- Work with IT and instructional designers to ensure a seamless online learning experience.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree
- Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field
- Five or more years of experience
- Experience with RSI compliance, ACUE teaching standards, and accreditation processes.
