Assistant/Associate Agent-Family and Consumer Sciences/Nutrition Educator
Job Description:
Primary Domicile will be St. James Parish.
Provide leadership for planning, implementing and evaluating family development and nutrition education programming. Agent/Nutrition Educator will work with families, volunteers, local agencies and program advisory committees to execute a well-balanced family and consumer sciences and nutrition education program. In regards to nutrition education programming, employee will provide nutrition education to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants or eligible participants in St. James and Ascension parishes. Family and Consumer Sciences programming will be performed in both St. James and Ascension parishes as well.
Minimal Qualifications:
BS Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Human Nutrition & Food, or Vocational education or closely related field. Reliable transportation. Record of successful programming in rural and/or urban communities; demonstrated ability to work with various socioeconomic and ethnic audiences and experience developing public-private community partnerships, a plus.
