SUAREC | Research Farm Maintenance Tech | Position: Full-Time Unclassified | Salary: $19.67 - $35.40 per hour | Application Deadline: December 8, 2025

 

Job Description:

This position is vital to the goals and objectives of the SU Agricultural Experiment Station. The SUAg Research Farm Maintenance Tech will be required to repair and maintain buildings, facilities, and equipment; make general repairs to buildings and other mechanical and related fields, such as agricultural equipment maintenance and repairs; oil equipment and lubricate general maintenance functions on farm equipment; maintain and make general repairs to a variety of motorized equipment, including oil changes, greasing, and replacement and adjustment of worn or damaged parts; make limited repairs to buildings and barns; and start, operate, and check for safety on motorized vehicles, tractors, hay bailers and planters, etc.; perform comparable farming tasks in other agricultural research areas; Requisitions supplies and materials as needed; estimates labor and materials necessary to accomplish repairs
as needed; perform other duties or assignments as directed by higher-ranking personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimal 2 years of experience or training in building maintenance, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, simple electrical wiring, and related fields such as agricultural equipment maintenance and repairs; starts, operates and checks for safety on motorized vehicles, tractors, hay bailers, planters, etc.;
