SUBR | Coordinator of Veterans Affairs and Administrative Assistant to the Registrar | Position: Full-Time | Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 | Application Deadline: December 8, 2025

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Veterans Affairs Coordinator will oversee all services and programs for veteran and military students. The Veterans Affairs Coordinator is responsible for assisting with student registration processes, maintaining accurate academic records, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations regarding veterans' benefits and services. The individual will work closely with academic departments, veteran students, and external agencies to facilitate the enrollment process and provide resources and support to student veterans and their families. The Administrative Assistant to the Registrar will assist with providing administrative and operational support to the Office of the Registrar. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Coordinate and administer all Veteran Affairs services, including benefits certification, compliance, and student advising.
  • Provide administrative support to the Registrar’s Office, including student record management, communication, and office operations.
  • Assist with student registration, academic records maintenance, degree audit support, and Banner data updates.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between veteran students, Financial Aid, Admissions, Bursar, and external VA agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, VA policies, and institutional procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of student records in accordance with FERPA.
  • Develop and distribute informational materials, workshops, and support services for veteran students and dependents.
  • Track enrollment, academic standing, and benefits eligibility for veteran students.
  • Assist with commencement, graduation certification, and veteran recognition programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Registrar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree: Business Administration, Higher Education, or related field
  • Experience: 2-3 years 
  • Specific Experience: Administrative support, VA benefits processing, student services, or higher education operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree:  Higher Education Administration, Business Management, or Public Administration
  • Experience: 3-5 years
  • Specific Experience: Banner experience, VA certifying official role, Registrar’s Office operations, academic records management

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Enrollment Management Systems
  • LAVECO Annual Training
