SUBR | SUBR | Interdisciplinary Studies Academic Advisor (Part-Time) | Position: Part-Time | Salary Range: $20 - $28 per hour | Application Deadline: January 30, 2026

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Interdisciplinary Studies Part-Time Academic advisors work collaboratively with other advisors, the Interdisciplinary Studies Director, department chairs, university staff, and other campus colleagues to support incoming and continuing students, both campus-based and online. The primary role will be to assist with recruitment, advising, and monitoring students by helping them understand curriculum requirements, university policies and procedures, and the successful path to degree completion. Responsibilities may include outreach to current students, using university resources to find students, and providing data, records, and reports upon request from supervisors. Part-time advisors report to the Interdisciplinary Studies Program Director.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provides academic advisement to Interdisciplinary Studies students. Advises on course selection, registration, academic planning, career and educational goal setting, appropriate resources, transitioning to the university, and retention issues. Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Studies Director, Department Chairs, College Deans, the Registrar’s Office, Admissions Office, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs to support student success.
  • Utilize advising tools and strategies, campus resources, and relevant updates to facilitate student success.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Interdisciplinary Studies Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two or more years of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a related field. 
  • Four or more years of experience
  • Background working in a college setting.
