JOB DESCRIPTION:
An earned doctorate or terminal degree in Management or Marketing, or a related field, along with a strong track record of teaching, research, and service. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, student learning, scholarship/research, and service that merits appointment at the rank of associate or full professor. Proven leadership, organizational, and administrative skills with the ability to manage complex academic operations, preferably with at least two years of leadership experience. Strong knowledge of technology-enhanced learning, AI applications in higher education, and digital literacy. Commitment to collegiality. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the department, and work with faculty, students, and staff to establish and maintain a long-term vision that aligns with the departmental, college, and university missions and strategic priorities. Model ethical leadership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Serve as liaison between the department and other units of the institution.
- Ensure departmental compliance with College, University, and System policies, as well as State rules and regulations. Oversee curriculum development, including periodic reviews and revisions for continuous improvement of academic programs offered by the department. Initiate new academic programs and projects when appropriate.
- Manage course schedules that serve the program and student needs. Manage course registration and instructor assignments. Review and revise department information published in the university catalog. Oversee the maintenance of departmental print and electronic records, including websites.
- Develop, promote, and oversee academic excellence in Management and Marketing through curriculum design, innovative teaching methods, and the integration of emerging technologies and digital tools into learning and research.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, evaluation, supervision, and professional development to strengthen teaching, scholarship, and service in the Management and Marketing disciplines. Recruit, supervise, and evaluate department staff and student assistants. Recruit and retain students in the department’s programs.
- Coordinate student advising, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities. Oversee the department’s student retention, progression, graduation, and placement. Foster a collaborative, collegial, and equitable environment that values diversity and promotes belonging for Management and Marketing Department faculty, staff, and students. Cultivate relationships with industry partners and external stakeholders.
- Ensure departmental compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and professional requirements. Ensures the timely submission of all requirements, including enrollment verification, progress reports, midterm grades, and final grades.
- Mentor and support faculty and students in pursuing research, grants, partnerships, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Promote technology literacy, data-informed decision-making, and the ethical use of AI across the department's academic and administrative functions.
- Engage in effective communication with students, faculty, administrators, and external partners to build strong relationships in advancing the mission of the College of Business and shaping the future of the department. Oversee the department’s fiscal operations; develop and regularly monitor the department’s budget, resource allocation, and departmental operations with transparency and efficiency.
- Teach at least two courses per semester and participate in research and scholarly activities in the discipline. Serve on departmental, college, and university-wide committees and initiatives. Provide all departmental reporting to the College as needed for administrative decision-making and for SACSCOC and AACSB accreditation review.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Business, Management, Marketing, or a closely related field.
- Rank of Associate Professor or higher with tenure, unless otherwise permitted by policy.
- Demonstrated administrative or leadership experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated collaboration and leadership abilities.
- Evidence of scholarly activity.
