Southern University System presidential search committee provides update in ongoing search
The Southern University System Presidential Search Committee is providing an update regarding the ongoing search for the next president of the Southern University System.
Earlier this year, the Southern University Board of Supervisors and the Presidential Search Committee engaged the services of TM² Executive Search to lead the national search process for the System’s next president.
“The Southern University System includes some of the nation’s premier academic institutions, and this search is critically important to our future,” said Jason Hughes, chair of the Southern University System Presidential Search Committee.
As part of the search process, TM² Executive Search conducted stakeholder engagement sessions across each campus within the Southern University System. More than 350 stakeholders — including students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and community members — participated in the sessions and provided valuable feedback regarding the qualities, characteristics, and leadership attributes desired in the System’s next president.
Input gathered during the engagement process was used to develop the presidential prospectus, which will guide recruitment efforts and prospective candidate outreach during the national search.
To ensure a thorough and expansive national search process, the timeline originally announced in January has been extended.
“We are committed to allowing TM² Executive Search the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive national search that brings us the very best finalists to fill this critical position,” Hughes said. “Our stakeholders deserve a thoughtful and deliberate process that identifies visionary leadership for the next chapter of the Southern University System.”
Additional updates regarding the presidential search process and timeline will be shared as they become available.
