Governor Bobby Jindal announces two appointments to the SU Board of Supervisors

Governor Bobby Jindal announced two appointments to the Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, Friday, February 10, 2012.

The Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College serves to manage and supervise the Southern University System.

According to statute, the board is comprised of 16 members, subject to senate confirmation. The board includes two members from each congressional district, one at-large member, and one representative of the student body.

Appointments to the Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College:

Bridget Dinvaut, of Reserve, is the Assistant District Attorney for St. John the Baptist Parish District Attorney's Office.

Dinvaut will be appointed to represent the 3rd Congressional District, as required by statute.

Joe Gant, Jr., of Shreveport, is the Senior Pastor at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Gant will be appointed to represent the 4th Congressional District, as required by statute.
