Digital Marketing Specialist/Videographer

Southern University and A&M College Is seeking a creative and results-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to lead the production of video content and manage social media storytelling. This role will focus on capturing and producing compelling video content for digital platforms, while also developing and executing strategies to grow engagement across the university's official social media channels.A Bachelor's Degree is Required. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Communications Specialist to plan, film, and edit high-quality video content for social media, website, campaigns, and events.
  • Lead videographer for the University, Board of Supervisors and President’s Office.
  • Film key events for departments as assigned.
  • Create short-form videos, reels, and behind-the-scenes content that captures student life, academic excellence, and university pride.
  • Manage day-to-day content creation and scheduling for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Collaborate with departments to support video storytelling for recruitment, alumni engagement, and institutional branding.
  • Monitor trends, analytics, and engagement to optimize content performance and audience growth.
  • Ensure content aligns with Southern University’s brand, voice, and diversity values.
  • Assist in developing digital marketing campaigns that support enrollment, awareness, and fundraising goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in videography and content creation.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Experience with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Excellent storytelling, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
