Research Assistant

Job Description:

The Research Associate will assist the PI of the prooject with laboratory assays, prepares media for maintenance cultures. Ability to isolate nucleic acids from fungal and plant samples, preform colorimetric and PCR based assays for pathogen identification and sequence analysis. Prepare plant samples for infection studies, imaging and scoring the samples for infections. Maintain records, analyze the data, assist in manuscript preparation and present data in meetings and conferences. Ability to work in the research lab to assist the project director on different research projects as needed. 

Minimal Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess a B.S. degree in Agricultural Sciences with plant and soil sciences and have at least one year experience working in the industry or research laboratory.
