Director of Admissions & Recruitment | Salary Range: $80,000 | Application Deadline: November 25, 2025

The Director of Admissions & Recruitment is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, management and execution of all aspects of student recruitment and admissions. This role involves leading a team to attract, recruit, and enroll a diverse and qualified student body, with a focus on meeting institutional enrollment goals. The director will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and senior leadership to design and implement effective recruitment strategies, manage admissions processes, and ensure a smooth transition for students from prospective applicants to enrolled candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing recruitment and admissions operations, developing strategies, and achieving enrollment goals.
  • Experience working with student recruitment technologies and the Ellucian Banner system, in addition to Slate systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, business, or a related field.
  • Five or more years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment and admissions strategies to achieve enrollment goals, attract a diverse student body, and enhance the institution's reputation.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align recruitment strategies with the institution's mission, vision, and enrollment targets.
  • Oversee the Recruitment Director and ensure the planning and execution of recruitment events, including high school visits, college fairs, open houses, and information sessions.
  • Utilize data and market analysis to continuously assess and refine recruitment efforts, ensuring they are responsive to changing trends and demographics.
  • Manage and lead the admissions and recruitment team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the admissions office, ensuring the efficient processing of applications, timely responses to inquiries, and clear communication with prospective students.
  • Establish and enforce admissions policies and procedures, ensuring they align with institutional standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ensuring that staff is providing an accurate review of applications and timely admissions decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other partners to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies for yield management to increase the conversion rate of accepted students to enrolled students.
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid, Student Affairs, Marketing, and other departments to ensure a seamless admissions process and to deliver a positive experience for prospective students.
  • Regularly report on admissions and recruitment activities, outcomes, and trends to senior leadership, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze data on admissions trends, recruitment efforts, and student demographics to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
  • Use data to forecast future recruitment needs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on recruitment progress, admissions statistics, and enrollment forecasts.
  • Oversee the admissions and recruitment management systems, ensuring they support efficient operations, data integrity, and effective communications.
  • Stay current on new technologies and trends in recruitment, admissions, and student engagement, implementing new tools and strategies as appropriate.
  • Lead efforts to engage prospective students through targeted communication strategies, including digital marketing campaigns, social media outreach, and email newsletters.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including room bookings, catering, and materials preparation.
  • Assist in planning and executing admissions events, including campus tours, open houses, and recruitment fairs.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, ensuring that the team is motivated, well-trained, and equipped to meet objectives.
  • Evaluate staff performance regularly, offering feedback and support for continued development.
