Southern University System Presidential Search Committee to hold third meeting in Baton Rouge

Southern University's Presidential Search Committee, charged with conducting a search for the university's next system president, will hold several open meetings to receive input from the campus communities.

A forum is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 5:30 pm in the Board of Supervisors’ Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, J.S. Clark Administration Building on the Southern University, Baton Rouge campus.

The purpose of the open forum is to allow SUBR, SULC, and SUAREC administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community stakeholders an opportunity to offer to the committee their comments, suggestions, and recommendations relating to the presidential search.

Speakers will be allowed 3 to 5 minutes (the maximum time allocated will depend upon the number of persons who indicate their intent to address the body prior to the meeting). Persons desiring to speak should send an email to henrietta_vessel@sus.eduand indicate on the subject line:

The selected candidate will serve as the chief executive officer of the nation’s only Historically Black University System--the Southern University System, which is composed of five campuses: Southern University at Baton Rouge, Southern University at New Orleans, Southern University at Shreveport, Southern University Law Center, and the Southern University Ag Center.
