On-Campus Research Services now available through SoURSCe

Edwin Walker, assistant professor, Department of Chemistry, Southern University, Baton rouge, has announced that SoURSCe, an on-campus research center, is now available free of charge to faculty members and students who do not have funding to support their research efforts.

The Southern University Research Services Center (SoURSCe) provides researchers at the University with access to a centralized research facility, which allows for University dollars to remain within the Oniversity, as well as provide a flow of revenue to take care of maintenance and operational cost of SoURSCe instruments.

SoURSCe is available at no cost to trained students and facility engaged in scholarly research that do not have funding available to them. Those with funding will be charged a nominal fee.

All funds brought in by the use of SoURSCe will be used for maintenance and operational cost.

Besides generating funds, SoURSCe will allow Southern’s facility to be more competitive in securing the support of federal funding agencies.
