SUNO homecoming week a golden affair

Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) will celebrate its homecoming November 1-6 featuring a keynote address by Timolynn Sams to help kick the week off. Themed, “Golden Knights on the Nile,” the week will hold all but one of its activities on campus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the university.

Sams, a 1998 graduate of SUNO, is the executive director of the Neighborhoods Partnership Network (NPN) and was named “One of 50 Visionaries Changing Your World” by the Utne Reader in November, 2008. A native of New Orleans, Sams had also served as the special events coordinator of the Audubon Nature Institute and the Midwest regional director of the National African-American Tobacco Prevention Network before returning home to take the post with NPN.
