SUNO team wins 'Rookie of the Year' honors at SIFE competition

Senior business entrepreneurship majors Michael Pugh and Tonia Simmons-Doakes represented Southern University at New Orleans in the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Regional Competition in Atlanta, Georgia, April 6 and returned home with "Rookie of the Year honors." The team also placed as the first runner-up. The SUNO SIFE team, advised by Louis Mancuso, professor, marketing, was judged by a national panel of business executives.

SUNO SIFE competed in the same league as Eckerd College (St. Petersburg, Florida), the University of Georgia, the University of North Florida, and Jackson State University. The league champions were Eckerd, Georgia, and North Florida while the SIFE team from Jackson State came in as the second runner-up.
