Capital One opens branch in MLK area

For the first time, Shreveport's Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood has a place to do banking and learn how to be financially fit.

The first ever Capital One bank branch in the neighborhood opened Thursday, September 2, the start of what some hope to be an economic development domino effect.

The branch - the first bank ever in that specific area and the only one within a 5-mile radius, is located across the street from Southern University-Shreveport. The school was also part of the team of bring the bank to the area.
