SU set for Relay for Life Kick-Off Party
The community is invited to attend.
The party, which is free, will allow cancer survivors, cancer patients, caregivers, the families of those who have lost their battle with cancer and those concerned about cancer to join a Relay For Life team or learn more about the American Cancer Society.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue, dance, and take turns walking around a track - relay style - to raise money. At nightfall, participants light hundreds of luminaria around the track in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lost to the disease.
The Relay For Life represents hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, those who face cancer will be supported and one day cancer will be eliminated.
Those interested in attending the party should RSVP by November 12 to Jennifer Graham at, 225.767.4561 or e-mail, Jennifer.Graham@caner.org.
