Southern University band headed to D.C. Mardi Gras

Members of Southern University's world renowned, "Human Jukebox" marching band, will perform February 12 in Washington, D.C., at

the Louisiana Delegation's Mardi Gras Ball hosted by Sen. Mary Landrieu.

This will be the band's first time performing at the annual event.

The band's drumline recently returned from a

trip to the North African countries of Morocco and Algeria where they performed in theaters, children's centers, a morning television show, sporting events, and conducted workshops.
