SU Baton Rouge offering full out-of-state fee waivers to qualified incoming freshmen for fall 2011

Realizing that Southern University and A&M College's student
population must reflect a global diversity and that the University must
recruit, retain and graduate students who represent scholarship
consistent with its mission of providing a high quality global
educational experience and graduating competent, informed and productive
citizens, every appropriate strategy must be implemented to assist in
achieving this mission.
Accordingly, in an effort to positively impact SUBR's recruitment, retention and graduation rates and to significantly enhance and expand its student diversity, the University offers the following out-of-state fee waiver policy.
A full out-of-state fee waiver will be granted to any incoming freshman who graduated with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum ACT composite score of 22 or SAT of 1030.
Any student who wishes to continue receiving an out-of-state fee waiver beyond the initial award must remain a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours (non-developmental) course load per semester and maintain a cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA.
This policy is effective for all incoming freshmen, beginning fall 2011.
