SU System Radiothon Slated for Friday, October 28
This annual homecoming fundraiser will be held from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Cumulus Broadcasting (formerly Citadel, 650 Wooddale Blvd.) and will be aired live on three stations powered by Cumulus Broadcasting - KQXL 106.5 FM, WEMX 94.1 FM, and WXOK 1460 AM.
The theme for this year's Radiothon, "Save Our Southern" is in sync with the alumni public relations campaign, both having the same goal of providing overall support for the University System.
Listeners may call in to make pledges during the 12-hour live broadcast at 225-926-1106 or may log onto the Foundation's website to make on-line donations (http://foundation.sus.edu). Donations may be earmarked to specific colleges, departments, or auxiliary programs, and proceeds will support scholarships, assistantships, and youth programs.
"The Southern University System Radiothon gives members of the community the opportunity to see firsthand the positive impacts our faculty, staff, and students are making around the state and nation, while at the same time, allows our supporters to give back to the University at such a critical time," said Dr. Ernie Hughes, vice -president for institutional advancement. Live streaming of the System Radiothon will be accessible via Web at www.q106dot5.com, www.max94one.com, www.heaven1460.com. The broadcast will take place all day at Cumulus Broadcasting. Individuals and groups are welcome to stop by either location for on-air pledges.
