Some SU System campuses, offices open Thursday

Some campuses and offices of the Southern University System (SUS) in areas affected by Winter Storm Leon reopened Thursday, January 30, 2014.

Southern University System offices and Southern University Baton Rouge (SUBR) opened at 10 a.m. Thursday. SUBR students are expected to return to their first classes after 10 a.m.


The Southern University Laboratory School, however, will be closed on Thursday. An announcement will be made Thursday concerning whether the Lab School will reopen on Friday.

Southern University New Orleans (SUNO), Southern University Law Center (SULC), and the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SU Ag Center) offices resumed normal operations and classes Thursday.

Roads and highways in some areas may still be closed. All SUS students, faculty, and staff should monitor local news and media for traffic conditions and road closures, and exercise caution when traveling to and from campuses.
