Southern University annual Founders' Day celebration, March 9

The special recognition of the University's history is themed "One Team, One Dream."
The commemorative celebration begins with a SU Laboratory School Commemoration on the Baton Rouge campus at 8 a.m.
Events throughout the day include:
9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Community Prayer Breakfast Brunch / Founders’ Day Convocation F.G. Clark Activity Center Speaker: Attorney Preston J. Castille Jr. National President, Southern University Alumni Federation
Noon - 1 p.m. SU Founders’ Day Birthday Party Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union Front (Jaguar Square)
3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Donald Carlye Wade - Building Dedication / Reception and Tour
7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Service Awards Recognition Dinner and Dance Honoring 20, 30, and 40+ years Faculty and Staff (By invitation)
Other campus events that are part of the celebration include historical exhibits in the John B. Cade Library, 1st floor area, and an 1880 Film Presentation at the SU Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
SU Jaguars Baseball will host a Pre-Founders’ Day Series, March 6, 7, 8, vs South Dakota State at Lee-Hines Field.
