Southern University announces 2017 Homecoming Court

Shreveport native Felise C. Thompson-Doyle, who was crowned the 87th
Miss Southern University, during a formal coronation Wednesday, October 4
in SU F.G. Clark Activity Center, reigned over the 2017 Homecoming
on the "Bluff." Joining Thompson-Doyle on this year's
homecoming court were Darby A. Smith, Miss Senior, escorted by Senior
Class President Xavier Diamond; Traci D. Smith, Miss Junior, escorted by
Junior Class President Darren E. Smith; Destiney L. Ausmer, Miss
Sophomore, escorted by Sophomore Class President Jaylon D. Robinson; and
Caché M. Brown, Miss Freshman, escorted by Freshman Class President
Trey A. Gros. Student Government Association President Armond
Duncan, a senior business management and marketing major from
Alexandria, escorted Miss Southern, a senior biology major.
This year’s homecoming theme, "Southern Hot 103," was a tribute to the
campus celebrating 103 years in Baton Rouge. The University hosted a
number of events in celebration of Homecoming Week.
