Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a part-time classified WAE job appointment and may not exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period. 
 
NOTEA Classified WAE (when actually employed) is a temporary job appointment used to fill a position in the classified service for a limited duration
 
This position is not eligible for benefits or paid holidays.
 
Work Location: This position is located at the University's Department of Traffic and Parking

Minimum Qualifications

No experience or training is required.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Applicants may be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license.

Job Duties:

  • Enforces Southern University Traffic and Parking Regulations across campus to ensure safe and orderly vehicle flow.

  • Directs vehicular traffic on campus during peak hours, special events, and as needed.

  • Picks up, transports, and sets up plastic and metal barricades for traffic control, events, and restricted areas.

  • Applies vehicle immobilization devices to vehicles in violation of traffic and parking regulations.

  • Coordinates with towing services and directs tow truck operators to the location of vehicles designated for towing.

    Criminal background check and reference verification are required.
