Program Assistant
Job Description:
Candidate will provide secretarial support for the daily operations of the Department of Languages and Literature. He or she will keep a breast of administration deadlines and schedules, receive visitors and phone calls, supervise student workers, liaise with other departments, schedule appointments, and maintain office files. Candidate will respond to repair requests by coordinating with maintenance and repair services. Candidate will assist the department chair with ongoing and special projects, monitor and maintain supplies, and assist with compiling data as well as other related duties as needed. The successful candidate will have knowledge of various office software, demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
Qualifications:
- Preference given to those candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A minimum of (2) two years of clerical experience is required
- Excellent time management, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required
- Candidate will need both organizational and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Experience in educational environment is preferred
- Experience with Banner and Canvas a plus
