SUBR | Program Assistant (Dept. of Languages and Literature) | Position Type: Full-time | Salary Range: $38,000 - $40,000 | Application Deadline: January 12, 2026

 

Job Description:

The candidate will provide secretarial support for the daily operations of the Department of Languages and Literature. He or she will keep abreast of administration deadlines and schedules, receive visitors and phone calls, supervise student workers, liaise with other departments, schedule appointments, and maintain office files. The candidate will respond to repair requests by coordinating with maintenance and repair services. The candidate will assist the department chair with ongoing and special projects, monitor and maintain supplies, and compile data, as well as other related duties as needed. The successful candidate will have knowledge of various office software and demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

 

Qualifications:

  • Preference given to those candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of (2) two years of clerical experience is required
  • Excellent time management, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required
  • The candidate will need both organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Experience in an educational environment is preferred
  • Experience with Banner and Canvas is a plus
