Job Description:
This is a 12-month research faculty position as an Assistant Research Professor Animal Science. This position is to help with the 330 acres approximately 5 miles from the main campus. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong research program in the areas of beef cattle, sheep, and/or groats. This person is expected to work as part of a team with other animal scientists and staff. The research program should address relevant topics in animal nutrition, genetics, management, and the use of AI in modern animal agriculture.
Job Responsibilities:
- The candidate will conduct research on beef cattle, sheep, or goats in an appropriate area of science. the successful candidate will be active in publishing research in peer-reviewed publications and active in grant and external funding activities. They will work as part of a team in pursuing their research interests and cooperating with other faculty and staff.
- Show evidence of a strong record in the publication of research results and show evidence of the ability to secure competitive extramural funding sources. Ability to work in a cooperative atmosphere with other team members. Strong writing and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Earned Doctoral Degree in Animal Science
- 10-15 years of experience
- Demonstrates a record of excellence in teaching, student learning, scholarship/research, and service.
- Knowledge of Animal Science or Animal Breeding
